Dave Sullivan was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas and began playing the guitar in his early teens. His musical taste and experiences have encompassed many genres of music. Currently, Dave's main focus is Jazz. He has played professionally for more than 50 years.

Sullivan has a rich history that includes a wide variety of club dates, shows, concerts, dances, weddings, receptions, birthday and anniversary celebrations, grand openings, picnics, bar mitzvahs, parades, boat cruises, etc. His earlier experiences included playing in some rather memorable settings: aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise; on flat bed trucks and trailers; in a chartered tour bus; on a movie sound stage in Hollywood for the filming of "Dr Goldfoot & The Bikini Machine", and performing with well known entertainers of different eras (the Elvis Presley Show, Louis Jordan and The Timpani Five, Herb Jeffries, Slim Gaillard, Sleepy LaBeef, Mary Kaye, and many others). And, for five seasons, he performed in a Green Bay Packers Tailgate Band at Lambeau Field. More recently, in addition to performing and recording with Matt Turner, Dave has also performed with nationally acclaimed composer and pianist John Harmon, bassist John Sullivan and clarinetist Chuck Hedges. Currently, he continues to play dates in Wisconsin and Illinois.

In Wisconsin, Dave served as a guitar instructor at Lawrence University, Lakeland College, Marian College, Sheboygan and Fox Valley UW Centers, Green Bay Summer Jazz Camps, Birch Creek Music Center, music stores and his home studio.

Along with several appearances at the Fox Note (Princeton, WI) and the Neenah Jazz Fest, Dave has performed at Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI), The Fox Jazz Festival (Menasha, WI), The Great River Jazz Festival (La Crosse, WI), The Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee (Fox Lake, WI), The Elkhart Jazz Festival (Elkhart IN), and the Nairn International Jazz Festival (Nairn, Scotland), among others.
